Your first exam with a new doctor can be

overwhelming and sometimes nerve-racking.

Dr. Jen tries to make this experience as enjoyable and

stress free as possible.  Once you enter the treatment

room Dr. Jen will go over your patient intake paperwork.

She will discuss your chief complaint(s) and ask any pertinent questions.  You will also be asked to review your medical and family history.  All of this information will give Dr. Jen the best understanding of your medical background and then be able to determine the best course of care for your specific condition.  A thorough chiropractic examination will be performed.  The exam is specific to each patient and their presenting condition.  The exam includes taking your vitals, range of motion, neurologic (reflexes and muscle strength), posture, and orthopedic testing.  If Dr. Jen feels that diagnostic testing is needed prior to treatment then she will refer you to a proper facility or specialist.  After the examination is complete, Dr. Jen will discuss her findings and explain your treatment plan.  Any questions will be answered at this time. And finally, you will receive your first Chiropractic adjustment.  Many times, after your first adjustment, patients may experience relief right away.  There are cases, depending on the severity of your condition or injury, where it may take several visits to get back to optimal function.  Keep in mind, Chiropractic "aids" your body's ability to heal.

Chiropractic & Kids

Many parents are beginning to introduce chiropractic care into their children's lives from birth to young adulthood. Highly trained chiropractors specializing

in pediatric care offer a drug-free complement to traditional pediatric care.    Chiropractic care is based on the relationship between the spine and the

nervous system, and pediatric chiropractors believe that by keeping the spine

in alignment as a child grows, a high level of preventative care and wellness

is achieved. Chiropractic care during childhood maintains a child's

structural health, which, in combination with regular pediatric care by the           child's pediatrician, promotes better overall health and wellness.

It's better to grow healthy kids than to fix injured adults.

When treating a child, the force of the adjustment is adjusted to the child's size and tolerance.  The earlier you start getting your child adjusted, the better accustomed to the treatment they will become.  You will be surprised that your child will learn to love their adjustments and start asking to see their Chiropractor.

There are a few common lingering symptoms that many Lyme disease patients may experience after finishing their treatment. This after-effect of treatment symptoms is referred to as Post-treatment Lyme disease syndrome (PTLDS). The symptoms may include: chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia and achiness. While these symptoms are varied based on each individual, they can linger or gradually fade away.

Chiropractic care may help with patients and their immune system. There may be chiropractic manipulations which may help trigger a positive response in your immune system, and also help with the aches and pains that have been caused by both the Lyme disease and PTLDS. It is best to speak with your chiropractor about your current symptoms and if chiropractic care would be an option for you.
